Since 1976, the little village of Cotuit has thrown what many call Cape Cod's best parade — drawing more than 10,000 people to its streets each Fourth of July.

From the Barnstable Village parade at dawn to a harbor boat procession and an evening drone show, the Cape marks America's 250th up and down Route 6A.

On Route 22 just outside Millerton, Irondale Cemetery holds some 2,800 graves — stones older than the village itself, and the families who worked the Harlem Valley's iron.

Nine hundred residents, one walkable Main Street, a rail trail and a weekly paper — the case for Millerton, 175 years young.

When Millerton celebrates its 175th this July, Patrick Doughty and Diane Price plan to be there — carrying the family story of village druggist Levi P. Hatch.

From a farmhouse naming meeting in 1851 to a drone light show in 2026 — the dates that made Millerton, gathered in one place.
